Parker Allen McCool

As of September 15th, I am an aunt!!! Monica and Gabe's beautiful baby boy arrived at about 4:30 in the morning (talk about a long night!). Everyone is healthy and happy! It's so exciting to have a new addition to the family. I think he's just about the cutest little boy I've ever seen...and Josie loves her little cousin "Harker".

Guess what?....More Josie Pics

Josie was running around the other night with no clothes on. We had lasagna for dinner and I just stripped her down to her diaper so that I wouldn't have to scrub stains out of her shirt and shorts:) After dinner she was being silly and I took a few pictures. They are pretty cute...so I decided to put them up here since I haven't made a post in a while.

Backyard

You'll see from some of the birthday party pictures that we finally got the yard looking decent. For those of you that didn't see the yard before we started this project...It was a barren wasteland of dirt and dog paths. We are very happy with the way it turned out. The dogs on the other hand...not so happy that their play yard was cut in half:)

Josie's Birthday

We had a really good time at Josie's 2nd bday celebration. It has taken way too long for me to post about it, but alas, I am a slacker... Friends and family came from all over to love on the baby girl (not so much of a baby anymore) and I think fun was had by all. Here are some of my favorite pics from the day:

Long time, No post

It has been quite some time since I posted anything on here and the Josie fans are beginning to get restless. :) We have been staying busy. We spent the 4th here in town and Karen (Gram) and Granpa came up to spend it with us. We had a great time and Josie got to see her first Fireworks. She really enjoyed it at first, but the loud booms got to her and she ended up in uncle Gabe's lap covering her ears some of the time and peeking through her fingers the rest:) Josie loved spending time with her Gram and I think that the feeling was mutual.

Nanette and Ella came by on the 4th as well and the girls had fun playing with Sparklett's bottles in Monica's backyard. Why do we spend money on toys?

Sunday after the 4th we spent the day with Nana and Pabo. Uncle Nick and Aunt racheal were there as well. We got to shoot off our own fireworks since they live out in the country (sortof). I had not done that in a long time. It was a lot of fun! Josie still wasn't too impressed:)

Rodney and I took Josie to the Fort Worth Zoo a couple of weeks ago. We had a blast but I forgot to pack the camera...typical. I would like to say that Josie's favorite part of the day was visiting the elephants or monkeys, but by far, it was the leaf collection she gathered as we made our way through the zoo. Again...money well spent:) She's such a silly goose.

We are making good progress on the backyard. Hopefully I will get some pictures up soon. It looks like I might make my deadline to finish it...Josie's bday party in a few weeks. I can't believe she's already 2!!

That's a brief update on what we've been up to the past month or so. More later!

Park Pics

Summer Fun

This past Saturday, Nanette and Ella came over so the girls could play in the pool. They had a lot of fun and we enjoyed watching them. This morning Rodney and I took Josie to the park to play...I love it that we get to spend so much time together when he's out of school for the summer!

Water Baby

Yesterday as we were working in the backyard, Rodney decided to turn on the water sprinkler to see how Josie would react. She had a BLAST and was FILTHY when it was all over. The yard is getting closer and closer to being done! I'll post more pics as soon as I can.
By the way...as you probably noticed...Josie's cast is off! She had it removed on Tuesday the 10th . All healed and back to a mile a minute!

Memorial Day Weekend

We spent Memorial Day weekend in College Station visiting Gram, Gramps and Papa. It's always so good to be there and spend time with them. We also got a tour of Starving Artist...Kristy and Missy's soon to be open Art Cafe...It's going to be fabulous! Here are some pictures of the Munchkin playing with Gram at the mall.

Potty Training

We have been working on potty training lately...why isn't this an instinctive behavior? Josie loves to sit on her potty, but only because she knows that it means she doesn't have to wear any pants:) So far we have not been successful at making peepee or poopoo in the potty, and we now have a streaker in the house:) Oh, well...she'll get it eventually, right?

Mother's Day From Hell

Yesterday was a day I will most certainly never forget! My mom had been in the hospital all week...kidney failure and labored breathing. The doctors finally had her under control and she was going to be released! What good news on Mother's Day:) Rodney, Josie and I were on our way to see her at 9:30 yesterday morning, when I tripped in the parking lot (while carrying my sweet baby). We went down HARD. Josie screamed and cried...I cried...poor Rodney wasn't sure what to do...So we ran up to my Mom's hospital room, told her what happened and rushed Josie down to the ER. We had Xrays done confirming that I had broken my baby's elbow...can you hear my heart breaking as well?...then we had to be transferred to Children's Medical Center to be evaluated by a Pediatric Orthopedist. We were there until 5:00pm. They took more Xrays which showed that the break wasn't as serious as originally thought (thank God) and they put a temporary cast on her little arm and sent us home. We have to be reevaluated next week. Happy Mothers' Day! Here are some pictures of my little trooper in her cast and sling...It's amazing how resilient babies are!

BlueBonnets

Nana and I took pictures of Josie in the bluebonnets yesterday. It was very windy, but we got some cute pics. Josie LOVED the flowers and didn't want to leave when we are finished!

Bubbles and a Broom

So today we were out on the back porch playing with Josie's bubble machines. She loves to scream"BUBBLES!!" at me until we go outside and play:) She found the broom and dustpan, however, and they were just so much more fun than the bubbles!
